BELMONT, CA: Vyatta, a software-based networking and security provider, has hired Airfoil Public Relations as AOR.

The company picked Airfoil at the end of last month. Its work for the technology company will include communications strategy, media and analyst relations, global events, editorial content, and thought leadership

Airfoil will also conduct a media audit, and it will use the results to influence and shape the company’s message.

“Essentially, we are going to help aggressively position the company as a leader in virtualized networking,” said Tracey Parry, SVP and partner at Airfoil. The account budget was not disclosed.

Matt Wolpin, marketing communications manager at Vyatta, said the company began the search when its relationship with a previous agency grew stagnant.

“We were close to a new round of funding when we started the search,” Wolpin said. “Looking at our roadmap, we wanted to inject a new sense of thinking on the account.

Vyatta previously worked with Eastwick Communications, which declined to comment on the hire.
